There is a growing number of lighting desk operators that are trained in the use of the light by numbers system. Contact details can be provided upon request.

These operators are not employed by light by numbers but are freelance technicians employed by the productions they work on.

Scheduling of employment and availability is the responsibility of the operators themselves and the production that is employing them.

In the case of emergencies we will of course do all we can to cover an operators absence.

The rates for operators are a matter for the individual operator and the production company that is hiring them. However based on existing grades in the film industry, the responsibilities of an operator and the level of skill required to do the job we recommend a minimum rate of £300.00 for a 10 hour day. This should not be inclusive of any holiday entitlement where this is required by law.
